Computer cannot detect USB removable drive

Sometime when you plug in you USB removable drive, the the drive did not appear in My Computer. It may happen if you got a lot of drive in your computer especially network drive. The computer automatically choose the drive letter that has been taken by other drive. thats why you cant see the drive.

To make it reappear in My Computer, try the following steps:

1) Plug in again the removable drive
2)If you still cant view the drive in My Computer, right click on My Computer and click Manage

3)Computer Management window will appear. Click on Disk Management on the left pane
4)On the right pane, you can see list of drive in your computer. Try to identify which one is your missing USB Drive.

5) On the right pane, you can see a block labeled (F:). Right click and choose Change Drive Letter and Path.. (in this case it was drive F:. It may be different on your computer)

6) In the window that appears, click Change.., then next to "Assign the following drive letter", choose a letter that was not taken yet.

7) Click OK and close all windows
8) Your drive will appear!!!
